Why should I take the LIRSPE?
The LIRSPE should be taken to enhance your professional skills on best practices including all students in your physical education programming. You can take the LIRSPE yourself if the class is videotaped, or you can input scores immediately after the class. You can also have a colleague observe your teaching and input the scores into the LIRSPE. The LIRSPE can also be completed by a paraprofessional or a student in your class.
How should I interpret my LIRSPE score?
The LIRSPE will identify key areas that need improvement to ensure the effort being made by the teacher. Within those key areas are resources available to assist in improving teaching so that students will feel part of the class and can access the content being taught.
How can I earn professional development credits?
You can earn 2 professional development credits by inputting your scores into the LIRSPE and downloading the resources. You can earn up to 6 credits per year, with no more than 2 credits per month.
How do I get a Certificate of Completion?
A Certificate of Completion appears in the portal upon completion of the LIRSPE and examining the resources.
